The modern definition of what constitutes a good work ethic often varies from one organization to another Different businesses have different expectations and values. Yet, we could state the following as the key ethics which need to be fulfilled by every employee in order to thrive in any workplace.

There are common traits, however, which characterize an effective executive, manager, or worker, regardless of industry or sector. Basically, how someone acts ethically, in life, translates directly into the workplace;

KEY ETHICS TO BE FULFILLED BY EVERY EMPLOYEE

1. Attendance

2. Character

3. Teamwork

4. Appearance

5. Attitude

6. Productivity

7. Organizational Skills

8. Communication Skills

9. Respect

Good attendance does not mean sliding through the door at five minutes past the hour. Plan your commute to work by giving yourself enough time to ensure that the needs of your family, traffic jams, and weather alerts do not make you late. If you make it early to work, there is a tendency that you would have the capacity to plan and organize the chores for the day or at least make a note for the day on what to prioritize. Basically, punctuality and attendance give you the ability to groom yourself to be a methodical person who is aware of the chores he/she is entitled to do at the workplace.

Character is determined by ethics and ethics are determined by values. A person is undoubtedly adored by society for the characteristics that a particular person holds. Because character is the combination of personal qualities that make each person unique. Everyone has character traits, both good and bad, and it is by your own will that you could change your character to be of great value to the company and your peers. Whether you're looking for working toward a promotion, or to survive in the organization, character counts. When employers look at the skills and traits that are essential for a position, character, an individual's ethical strength is non-negotiable. Because an honest employee who does the right thing because it's the right thing to do fosters a culture of compliance within an organization and ultimately enhances its reputation as an ethical company.

Have you ever over-heard that a particular person has the ability to go up the ladder and survive for a very long time sans the support of the people who work around him/her? The answer is a clear "No". Let it be a project, solve difficult problems, or any form of work-related chore which requires a collaborative approach, it is MANDATORY for you to work in collaboration with others. In other words, TEAMWORK makes you achieve the said targets as a whole group for the benefit of the organization and also for your personal growth. You should always remember work life is not a game that you play merely to WIN and get the whole "Apple" to eat all by yourself. It is to glory over the achievements that you achieved WITH the help of peers and celebrates credit as on a team.

We, as human beings tend to demean or state our opinions on other people based on the particular individual's appearance, smell, cleanliness, and mannerism. It is quite understandable that we, as humans possess the tendency to feel the urge to be annoyed over such facts about another. Yet, when pondering on the fact whether it is RIGHT to mock someone based on such aspects which he/she has no possible control over, the need to question the ethical side of the whole innuendo arises. Despite that, each and every one of us should make sure that we don't fall under the category of "being mocked; because of our own inconsideration". Good grooming and appropriate dress inspire your confidence and help create a pleasant working environment for all. After all, in a workplace, "Looking the part" is a vital factor for most forms of employment.

Work ethics, attitude, and productivity are in line with each other. And these three are interrelated in any working organization. If you do not have positive attitudes, there is no chance of being a productive employee. If you always happen to see the worst side of a situation, undoubtedly the attitude level would diminish. It is a must to have a positive mindset and see things in a better way which would result in your happiness at the end of the day. Therefore, it derives the conclusion of Positive attitude = High productivity level.

Organizational skills are an integration of;

o Teamwork

o Time management

o Planning

o Scheduling

o Resource coordination

o Delegation of work

o Goal setting

o Collaboration

o Leadership

o Efficiency and many more.

Possessing great organizational skills will derive ample benefits in grooming to be a great leader in the workplace for the mere fact that such persons would have the power to have perfect control over themselves in the workplace.

Respect towards a person is the concept that all people deserve the right to get value and recognition for their thoughts, actions, and beliefs. It would not be out of order to state that perhaps respect is the most fundamental principle out of all other principles of ethics. Because it is the sole property of being a "person". The polite, respectful debate about issues rising at the workplace could have an immense opportunity on avoiding harmful consequences. That is ultimately the reason why we should listen to the opinions of each other. It is why we should attack the arguments and not the person. It is why we should refrain from insulting or oppressing others even if we fundamentally disagree with them. It is a known fact that respecting a person would give you the respect in return that you seek from the other person.

If you practice good work ethics, climbing up the ladder of success is quite so easy... Because being ethical is doing the right thing even when no one is watching over you. People give value not solely for the talents or the knowledge someone has acquired but the value of a person is reflected through his/her human qualities, how disciplined that person is, in or out of the workplace.
